One of the agency workers we were speaking to recently mentioned* that they tend to see an increase in newborn placements 9 months after any major power outages, major weather events, etc. So... let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!!

*Anecdotally, of course; she didn't have official statistics to back this up.
I think we all believe that. Course, the only stats I see at work are births, not adoptions.
ReplyDeleteI can believe that! It's like in the movies, when one of the protagonist falls into the icy water, so the sidekick has to drag the protagonist out, get him/her to a indoor venue, strip nekkid, then lay on top of each other to exchange warmth.
DeleteWhat the movies don't typically show is the protagonist's gratefulness for being saved in such a heroic manner, and the inevitable consensual reward that follows.
So yes, snow days probably do lead to more births, especially here in Seattle, where there are so many bodies of water for people to fall into.
^ That comment is from me, Tatiana, btw. I thought I signed in, but I guess not.
DeleteYou were my guess, Tatiana :)
DeleteAwww... exciting!! Man, it's crazy to think that in 9 months time, you could have your little one :) Can't wait for the cousins to meet!
ReplyDeleteI know! I mean, it's not likely to happen within 9 months (probably will take longer), but exciting nonetheless :)
